We Love Fall
By Robert Mazzucchelli · Founder & Chief Curator

“Something about fall is just so appealing, especially with great food and wine from Italy.”
Maybe it's my New England or Tuscan roots, but there is something about fall that is just so appealing, especially with great food and wine from Italy. When the harsh summer heat has mellowed and the frigid winter temperatures are still months away, this is my favorite time of year.
I also love the wardrobe shifts from lightweight wools, cottons, and cotton/silk blends to tweeds, cashmere and layered luxury.
My first memories of visiting Italy were during this time of year, as the summer resort towns emptied out and the cities started bustling with people. One of my favorite traditions in Italy is the passeggiata, the evening stroll meant for relaxation and greeting neighbors as you wander through the town. This slow-paced walk is particularly enjoyable in the fall, when the cool air provides an inviting and invigorating energy.
My food favorites: a hearty bowl of Trippa Fiorentina, a satisfying bowl of Pappa al Pomodoro or a delicious plate of Tagliatelle al Ragu. Food doesn't get much better than these traditional comfort favorites.

In this issue, we'll take you through some iconic Tuscan towns, share some mouth-watering recipes and explore the origins of the fine Italian silks that will adorn our necks as the weather turns colder.
We'll also share a conversation with a wonderful merchant of Italian men's apparel, whose shop is in my childhood hometown of Providence, Rhode Island.
Let's get to it.
Vivere con Passione,
