Letter from the Founder
We're Back
By Robert Mazzucchelli · Founder & Chief Curator

“Past clients lamented about not being able to talk about our shared passions.”
Roberto da Carrara started as a passion project. After a successful career in marketing, I wanted to share my obsession with quality, craftsmanship and tradition with like-minded gentlemen. The experiment worked. By 2009, Fashion Group International had named Roberto da Carrara runner-up for menswear designer of the year — after only two seasons — and Town & Country featured our NYC store as a recommended place to buy top-quality bespoke clothing while enjoying a curated selection of Italian wines as you shopped.

As bad luck would have it, this success arrived in the midst of one of the worst financial meltdowns in history. While I tried to continue the business, our customers were not spending — on anything — and the best move was to shut down. I was heartbroken.
As years passed, I would get random calls from old customers asking if our shirts or tailored clothing were still available. Often past clients lamented about not being able to stop by the store to talk about travel, wine, food or the many other passions we shared.

So this year, I decided to bring Roberto da Carrara back. Not as a store — although we will have a curated online shop with some very special items — but as a by-invitation-only society of gentlemen who share my passions and quest to Vivere con Passione. Only one hundred memberships will be offered. If you are receiving this, you are one of them.
Welcome back.
